Breaded steak casserole (Lots of Pictures) ;)
« Reply #-1 on: September 14, 2014, 10:48:53 PM »
After eating wings and little smokies + gravy and biscuits yesterday I thought I'd go for a good comfort food

I wanted to play with my pellet pooper and breaded steak casserole sounded seemed to hit the spot so I went to the store and got what I needed.

First get enough baking spuds so you can have at least 2 layers of sliced spuds and make sure to wash the starch off.
After you wash and dry them spray a pan with Pam spray and lay down the first layer of sliced potatoes.
Add a few cubes of butter to the potatoes.  Next slice a onion and layer them on top of the potatoes
Bread your cube steak an lay them on the onion/spuds
Next layer spuds, butter and onions again then wrap in foil

Place in a 375 to 400 degree smoker/grill and cook 35 to 40 mins.
After cooking them 35 to 40 mins covered, pull off the foil and turn the heat down to about 225 or smoke setting and let it go another 20 mins to firm up the steak and potatoes and to add a little smoke flavor

The potatoes will do done just right, the steak will be nice and tender and the onions will be sweet and tender

Looks like it would be delicious Tommy!!! I dip sirloin or round steak I pound a little and dip in seasoned flour, brown in a skillet and then in a covered casserole with beefy mushroom soup poured over then baked. This looks like it's worth trying! Nice idea! Bookmarked! Don
