New wheels for Cookshack
« Reply #-1 on: January 01, 2016, 11:52:02 AM »
Cookshack now has larger wheels/casters (3 inch) for their line of residential smokers. Should make moving over uneven surfaces much easier.  I plan on getting a set.

Cookshack.  When I decided to go electric, I did a lot of research and at the time, the SIs were limited to just a single door latch and I wanted a two latch system.  I got the Cookshack as a refurb from the company at a real good price. Later on, SI added a second latch to the model 3, and the racks were stainless and the wheels larger, and a longer cord, etc.  so I bought a Smokin-it model 3 in the fall of 2012 as a gift for my brother and his family. A remarkably stout smoker, very well built, and utterly reliable.  And since then, I have been a promotor of SI.  Here is the SI site page from the 'payback' machine that shows what was available a few years ago:

The Good Old days. My first SI had the single latch. The double latch system is the way to go  :)

I remember reading your review/comments during those days. I don't think there were more than a dozen comments at that time. But SI has really grown in the last couple of years.

I felt it was a gamble at the time...like you pointed out...there was hardly anything on line. I had cooked on a buddys Cookshack but they are so darn pricey. I was pretty impressed when the SI showed up and it look and felt and performed just like the CS but at over 1/2 the cost  8)

Wheels installed.  Moving over an uneven surface much more stable and a lot easier.
