I was thinking the same thing when I was cooking.   Grate temps on hit 450 or so.

I think it's because we dropped the disk down but not the grate holder. Before I was getting 500 + at the grates.

A learning curve but fun!!!

Smart man. Before my wife and I got married we got into a huge fight over ketchup. I made her a great meal with fried potatoes, she asked for ketchup. I didn't have any as I never eat it. I looked at her like she was from another planet.....let the fighting begin.

10 years later we laugh now......

There used to be a restaurant near my town that only served breakfast and lunch. They served a fantastic plate of food but with one catch... Ketchup was banned from the place. He had several signs and also located at every table that no ketchup was allowed. He stated that it offended him if people used ketchup because he felt it covered up the flavor of his food.

The place was very small and only had a couple of tables so it would be common to sit with different families or people at one table. There was always a line out the door because his food was that good!

Anyways I was eating there one time when three guys in their twenties were sitting with us at our table. They had brought in ketchup packets and proceeded to use them on their food. They were laughing and appeared to be doing it to see what would happen. Well the chef( owner) noticed them doing that and proceeded to yell then he kicked them out of the restaurant and told them they were never welcome back! And he was dead serious! My wife and I were blown away. He was seriously p!ssed off! One of those "glad it was not me moments" ;)
