Title: Portugal - the bonus round
Post by: Ka Honu on October 01, 2016, 03:34:23 PM
Can anyone identify the location below and tell me why it's culturally important to Americans of my generation? (Hint - you might need to be "of a certain age," probably about 55 or older, to know).

1) Location - Vila Real, Portugal

2) Cultural importance - It was popular with many people "of a certain age," and caused headaches.

I am 68.

Well yeah, it's the Mateus Palace in Villa Real, Portugal, and is most famous for its appearance on the label of countless bottles of Mateus wine...

I'm still waiting for a correct response (or even an incorrect response if it's entertaining) about its "cultural importance."
