"Tee eats Italy"
« Reply #-1 on: September 12, 2015, 10:23:20 PM »
Tee asked me to post some of the picts from his trip.  I hope I have them in order.

We sat on on the tarmac for 3 hr’s in CLT.....so by the time we got thru customs and into our hotel it was 3:30 in Rome. Thank god for finding this deli around from our hotel.

I had chickoty with roasted garlic and peppers. Fresh pickled sardines. Cherry peppers stuffed with seasoned and smoked tuna. Pickled shrimp in spicy olive oil. AND THE BREAD...OY!!!

Here is Tim’s meal..delicious!

I will manage here somehow…... No biscuits and gravy. But I think I will get by…

I will send you a pic of the view from the rooftop where I am having it...  Top floor of our hotel.

It was about 68F with a light breeze at breakfast. Those shots are a roof top dining area at Hotel Stella, in Rome. Tomorrow we drive to Tuscany.

I even got a water fountain on my bathroom.

This is the local deli. And O.M.G.!!!!  The pictures can't tell you just how good this was.

Ham shot.

Prosciutto Tuscano.

Feeling cheesy?

Ham and other mouth watering meats.

Clothes?  Who needs ‘em?  I am throwing mine out here and loading my suitcase.

More later from Tim.

I love the Roman law that says they're not allowed to serve bad food. And, even better, most of the rest of the country adheres to the same philosophy.

We just got to the farm house in Chianciano ("key-an-sahno" ).

Will send Art more pics. The view of the old town for our room is....like a movie set. But the food is unreal.... The owner grows and processes grapes and olives and other foods. So wine and olive oil will flow  8)

Tim, no man should have to endure all that good food by himself. You should try to sneak some back into the country to share with your friends.

I'm not sure how they do it in Italy, but in Germany, you can buy meat at the market and they will seal it in a tin can which is allowed to be brought back into the country. I usually bring back half a suitcase of liverwurst and it passes inspection every time. Also, you can mail tin cans of meat, cheese, etc. back to the USA. You don't happen to have my address with you, do you?
