Good things happen when friends get together.
It looks like y'all had a great time.
Thanks for sharing the good times.
B T W, our cicadas usually show up in late summer, but I've NEVER seen anything like what y'all had.

They were imported for the event ;)

The cabins were fabulous..I have stayed in other ones too ..all the same..double bed and set of bunk beds with a lil table and a nice porch with a porch swing. log cabin in and out. I could live in a tiny house like that..with just one more room.  $10,000 for the cabin...I think they are prefab.  .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

WHEW!!!

We took Monday to recover, but wow what a great event, and what a turnout!  We had 25 in attendance. Plus we had a couple who were staying at the campground come and join us.  Tammy said this was the most enjoyable gathering she's been to.

I want to thank everyone who came and made this such a great event.

We got to see some good friends and had the pleasure of meeting some new ones:  Mike & Judy Zinkan (Long-time friends of Dave & Jan).  Mike is an extremely funny guy!   We got to finally meet Tim's wife Kaye and Art's wife Maureen.  We also got to meet Aren (Scallywag) and his lovely wife Paula. I enjoyed hearing all about their three boys.

Just a few of the food highlights for us were:

> Dave's Honey-Sriracha glazed ham, cooked on his Cobb grill. Fantastic!
> Jason's Pork Loin.  He made his own rub and it was fabulous!
> Kevin brought some ground goat meat which we turned into burgers - Fantastic!
> Pam's Rhubarb custard pie. I want this recipe.
> Scally's Jerk Chicken Poutine.
> Don's smoked Cajun Crackers & Pistachios (Tammy has tasked me with getting the recipe).
> Art's Pimento cheese spread with candied bacon
> I'm not sure who made the Macaroni Salad (I think it was Donna), but all I know is it was fabulous! Some of the best I've ever had!

That's only a smattering of the food that was made, and that's not counting anything we made.  There was so much good food it was very hard not to stuff yourself silly!

The location was awesome.  I want to thank Bev & the whole crew at the Butler-Mohican KOA Campground for bending over backwards to accommodate us and making us all feel so welcome.  I could not have asked for anything more!

The consensus was that this year's location was even better than last year, and everyone who stayed at the campground has already said this is where they want to come next year.

I will post some pics in a while.

Cliff..the macaroni salad was made by Donna and she makes the best..easy to do and one of my favorites. The recipe for the rhubarb pie is already posted on the site a while ago.
I sent a reply to the KOA about our stay and Thanking them for everything, which was perfect for us, they couldn't have been cleaner or nicer, we were impressed with that, but we are diehard campers, Donna and Maci and I, even the rain didn't bother us. The only thing wrong was that we didn't want to leave.
It was nice meeting the wives and Scallywag and Paula, we like meeting new peoples. A good time was had by all.
And I left a pie pan there this year, keep you eyes peeled, it's an antique.
We are ready for the next one.   .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

Some food pictures from the Ohio Gathering.  Old Dave’s brisket.  His usual fine job.  OUTSTANDING!!

Jerk chicken that Scallywag made for his poutine.  No picture of the poutine plated up.  To busy eating it.  More great food.

Cliff’s peach ribs.  These were melt in your mouth good!!

Tee sampling some chips brought by Scallywag.

Tee in need of some bail money at the Lehman store.  As usual, I had to bail him out.
