Gathering Food Donated by the Turtle
« Reply #-1 on: September 24, 2013, 10:38:35 AM »
I just had a 29# box delivered to my front door from Snake River Farms courtesy of the Turtle.  I don't know what all is in it but 29# of  meat can't be anything but good.  I think there is some brisket in there. I won't know until I get to the lake and open the box what is in there.  Hopefully, someone will be able to post from there what is in the box.

I want to thank the Turtle so much for this  generous gift; however, as good as this food is I would have rather had his presence in lieu of the meat.  Turtle, thank you.

Ka Honu, that was a very generous gift! I wish I could be there, but look forward to the reports of how everything was cooked. Dee, turns out I wouldn't be able to attend anyway given my hospital stay. I wish you all the best and look forward to hearing about it and seeing the pictures!

Cheers,

David

"What's in the box?"

This will be the next great question to be answered this weekend at the Gathering...the other being

"What kind of pit is Tim getting?"

Only a few days left till we find out.

In fact, Dee can post pictures of the contents of the Turtle's box so we can plan ahead how we want to cook it.

Temper your expectations - at least half of that 29 pounds is packing.  The rest, however, is fit for a turtle (and therefore, by definition, some excellent stuff).  Enjoy.

dee & tee - Be happy with the box; its contents are far less contentious and more enjoyable than my presence would be.

Oh no!  It's a box of pineapples  :o

(Which, by the way, are dynamite when grilled)

(Pineapples as in fruit, not hand grenades -- I hope)

B T W, if you google Snake River Farms, you might get a hint and you might change your plans so you can attend the Gathering.
