PBC chili
« Reply #-1 on: August 04, 2014, 12:16:30 PM »
I wasn't sure if I should post this here or in the cast iron section, so I figured I would give our sponsor some face time. I was checking out the bbq sauces at wal-mart and came across a bag of Stubbs chili fixins. Now I like Stubbs sauces and figured this is worth a shot. The bag had 2 smaller bags inside. One was a tomato and pepper paste and the other was a powder spice pack. I had a few tomatoes from the garden and bought some small peppers. Put it all on the PBC with cover off the pot to get some of the smoke. I will post my opinion later. Thanks for looking.

I know people that do chili in the bradley smoker so theres no reason that shouldn't work. If you have some lump coal hanging around that might give it a little more wood smoke taste

The chili turned out pretty good. It simmered very nicely for 4 hours in the PBC. I really liked the way it cooked the chili. I didn't get very much smoke from the charcoal though. That kinda surprised me.

Looks real good, Sandman.  Maybe smoking the veg a little before everyone's in the pool.  At least that what I would (I mean, will) try.
