Newbie from Texas
« Reply #-1 on: February 25, 2017, 11:00:12 AM »
Hello all, my name is Bart and I decided (more like scared straight) a few years back to begin eating healthier and exercising as a way to improve both my and my families lives. Part of plan, was that I would begin cooking at home 4-5 times per week and reduce our addiction on fast food. Its been a fantastic couple of years and I  have lost close to 100 pounds and feel so much better! My rule is that I will eat just about anything as long as we cook it at home.

Now for why I want to join the forum. We love bbq and I consider myself a beginner that has had some success and some abysmal failures. I found this forum last week and there seems to be a genuine sense of community and folks who want to help newbies like me improve. I am actually planning to cook a Pork Butt tomorrow (too cold in Texas today:) ) according to the simple directions TMB provided in another post.

I currently have a Traeger Pellet grill and a SRG. I am looking at possible adding a Weber Gas grill or Kamado style grill this spring.

I appreciate having this forum as a helper and look forward to learning from the users over the years.

Thank you
Bart
