First cook on the MAK #385
« Reply #-1 on: March 17, 2013, 04:59:01 PM »
Dry day here in the Northeast...finally.
Today we broke in the new MAK 1 Star for an hour at "High". Then to 275 degrees for a half hour. Seasoned the new AMZNPS Tube as well.

No bad JuJu here, we're making Bacon Candy for the first cook.
1lb of bacon I made recently with Tee's Super Pig!
Let the good JuJu begin. BBL

Thanks everyone. This Pellet Boss is pretty sweet. I stayed at 275 and finished the bacon candy.
Oh.     My.      God.    This is the best bacon I've ever had!

SWEET! Great first cook Sam. :)

MAK Daddy's not kidding about the 1 Star being a smoking beast. Wait 'till you try smoking some sausage on it. ;)

The sweet spot for the A-Maze-N tube, when cold smoking, is all the way over on the right under the grate where the grease drains. It draws air very well in that spot.
