Great looking tri-tip Randy, You definitely need to post that recipe for the Syracuse salt potatoes, I tried them once from your recipe and there Awesome !!

That looks pretty good. Pardon the newbie question, but what cut of beef is the "tri tip"?

From what I know you either have them where you live or you don't. The CA people are blessed with them. We can get them at Costco here in Minnesota.

I believe they are part of the sirloin. They are excellent.

If one of the instigators around here who shall be nameless (Muebe) mentions "Trisket", pay him no never mind . ;D

Don't stress over the amount of salt. Trust the me on this one. Rinse the pot before you melt the butter if you wish.
