Hang'em High
« Reply #-1 on: March 16, 2014, 07:27:55 PM »
Today I tried ribs again.  This time they were baby backs, also hung some corn and potatoes.  The barrel ran cold, about 225.  So they took awhile to finish.  I started with 50 lit coals again today, which was perfect last time.  But we had high, cold winds  today.  Maybe that is what caused the low temp, I don't know.   Well in the end, everything came out awesome.  I rubbed the ribs the night before, wrapped and put in fridge.  The corn and potatoes were seasoned before being placed in the cooker.  The wife said these were the best ribs I have ever cooked, even the 6 yr old liked them.  Here are the pics.

Looks great. How long did you cook the corn and potatoes and how did that work out?

I was curious about that as well. I would be concerned about the potatoes getting soft and falling off the hooks. BTW the ribs look great.
Love to cook and eat

They were on for about a hour and half.  They came out good.  With the potatoes, you just bend the end of the skewer.  You need atleast a 90* bend, a little more is better.  The first time I did it, I had about a 60*bend.  All of them fell in and burnt up.
