Pulled Pork in the Instant Pot
« Reply #-1 on: January 18, 2018, 07:32:23 PM »
Our slow cooker died and after some research we decided to replace it with an Instant Pot. Pulled pork was my first cook, as it is way too cold outside for me!

It was fantastic! Margo loved it and we will be making it again. I also bought a chuck to try in there. Hoping that it will be as much of a success.

Bob that looks awesome! Lots of Instant Pot posts around here. It is a kitchen tool I use often.

Looks great. The IP is so much more versatile then a slow cooker. Bet they can't give them away now

We had pot roast tonight in the "instant pot"... Whatever brand... With potatoes, carrots, and onions.  Yeah, kinda boring, but I'm just a backyard jack.

That's some dang good looking pulled pork. Hard to believe it was cooked indoors.

This will never be as nice as cooking outside, BUT when it is in the teens outside it is mighty nice to be eating pulled pork!

Margo made spaghetti and broccoli soup. Both were full of flavor and easy to do. I wonder if this thing could be used as a slow cooker? LOL

Smoke I am shocked at you. Where is the pioneer spirit the real American way of cooking in any weather outdoors...sad state this country is in. Slow cookers, instant pot's & air fryers are taking over & will ruin us all.

I say stand up like a real man when the going gets tough & temperatures drop.......... pick up your phone & order take out or home delivery ;) ;) ;) ;) ;) :D :D :D :D :D :D

Jaxon..use a little and I do mean a little liquid smoke..like 1/2 tsp at the most...will definately improve the flavor..and they have a couple of different kinds, hickory or mesquite.  .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

My GF just did the same thing last week with her new Presto (she calls it her "InstaPot").  It came out pretty good.  Certainly as good as what would come out of a slow cooker.

She also cooked some ribs for her mom, she lives in a small town about an hour away and my GF visits her pretty much every weekend.  But she said I probably wouldn't like them because they weren't done on the grill.

For me, if I can cook it on a grill, that's where I want to cook it.  But, I also know that there are a myriad of other ways to "skin a cat."  For my her, well, it's gotten her back into cooking.  She did some chicken & dumplings (w/a side of pinto beans) Wednesday and is doing a little Country Style Steak tonight.

My biggest problem is remembering not to offer her advice on how to cook, even when she asks ! ! !
