Steak Pizzaioli
« Reply #-1 on: February 25, 2015, 07:15:15 PM »
Made a quickie tonight trying a different way, came out good.

Was going to make them with roasted potatoes like I normally do but had some Tortellini been in the freezer awhile and decided on that

Lots of garlic and a small Shallot diced up and the spices set. Lot of Oregano, Kosher and fresh ground, a little crushed red pepper and one Italian Peppericini we brought back from Italy.

Small steaks on first in the Genni, lightly browned and after the first turn

Steaks removed and on the side while shallot and garlic get jiggy

Crushed tomato in next and reduce a little

Steaks back on to finish in the sauce

On the table with the Tortellini and a little grated Parmesan.

Very nice, and good looking gravy to boot! (In my family, gravy is any red sauce cooked with meat)

I am still worried about anything acidic in my CI, it isn't even 6 months old yet.
