Fireman's Brew, blonde and brunette

May 31 2015

Sandman got some new craft beer in to try, Fireman’s Brew. I bought a six pack of their two beers a pilsner lager style and a German double bock to take to my son for his birthday Saturday. We went down to their house for dinner, he cooked cheeseburgers and brats on his gas grill.

It was nice enough between rain showers he got it cooked and we ate out on their patio. A friend of the grandsons came and he wanted a hot dog. Before he got them done we saw it was getting black in the south so decided to go inside. Before we got all picked up to go inside the rain let loose and we all were pretty wet by the time we got in. The son finished the hot dogs under an umbrella!

We had a large pizza size chocolate chip cookie covered with some chocolate icing for dessert. We stayed until after 9pm; that was an hour past my bedtime! They had friends coming later for more celebrating.

Fireman’s Brew calls the lager their blonde and the double bock their brunette. The blonde is 5% and the brunette is 8%. To me the blonde was good but nothing special; but loved the brunette! It is a full bodied but smooth tasting bock beer!
