Mexican Beef
« Reply #-1 on: May 16, 2016, 03:39:09 PM »
We have found that if you want the best beef around Fresh Market Hereford is pretty darn good.
Saturday I went to the "other" grocery store. They have started carrying a new line of beef from Mexico.  I have seen it several times but after seeing the price on the regular steaks I decided to give it a go.  The Angus beef Filet's were 23.99 for two. The Mexican Filet's were 13.49 for two the same size.
I  seasoned them up and cooked them on the kettle.  I have to say they were not bad. Very tender and I do not think anyone would really know the difference. Even with a side by side comparison.    I 'll have to give this another try to be sure and do the side by side this time.

Have not seen Mexican Beef in the stores as of yet in Savannah.
But, based on your appraisal, when I see some I will purchase and do some cooking.
