Sauce Branding
« Reply #-1 on: August 11, 2016, 09:22:00 PM »
So ever since I made the double apple ribs and I tweaked my sauce for the recipe by adding the cider and apple butter, I have numerous co-workers wanting to buy jars of the sauce lol. So I figured what the hell and made a little branding decal to slap on top of the mason jars  8)

Just a little personal project, I'm a graphic designer by trade and since I have so many requests for this sauce at work I figured what the hell, lemme slap a label on it  :)

This is the recipe my co-workers are bugging me to make for them... I'll be putting this on some pulled pork for a company picnic we have next Friday

    1c Ketchup
    2/3c Brown Sugar
    1c Angry Orchard Hard Cider
1/3c Real Maple Syrup or Molasses (I've used both)
1/2c Apple Butter (or more to taste)
1/2c Big Red Soda reduced syrup. I took this from the Big Red Rib Glaze recipe I posted..(not necessary but I like the added sweetness and added color)
    6oz Tomato Paste
    3 tbs Mustard
    3 tbs Apple Cider Vinegar
    1 tbs Sea Salt
    1 tbs Dry Mustard
    1 tbs Worcestershire Sauce
    1 tbs Garlic Powder
    1 tbs Onion Powder
2 tsp Thyme (If you don't like thyme or if it's too strong, reduce or can be omitted)
    1 tsp Black Pepper
    1 tsp Paprika
1/2 tsp Cayenne (adjust to your heat preference)

I've also added liquid smoke at times if you want a smokey hint to it but I usually get enough from my meat.

TFS the recipe Kona! I tried some apple butter sauce once and thought it was pretty good but not over the top. If I get time will try your recipe! Don

I've also altered it in the past for peach flavors by using peach nectar and preserves in the sauce
