A healthy BLT, No really
« Reply #-1 on: March 19, 2017, 09:37:51 PM »
Our forum expert on all things "healthy" ( Cliff... AKA. TentHunter) shared a bread recipe with me and I have been using it like crazy!

This is his first try at making low carb bread and it's good!  Only 1.5 or the net carbs for the bun size bread

2 Tbs Almond flour
2 Tbs Flax flour
1/8 tsp baking soda
1/4 cream of tarter
pinch of salt
1 egg beaten
1 Tbs real butter    (you can add a 1/2 to 1 tsp of water)

Mix all dry ingredients then add egg and melted butter, pour into a 4 inch microwave safe dish and cook on high setting for two min's

Mine has Chia seeds on top for a little extra fiber and crunch

It looks great, Tommy! I could eat one right now.

Our forum expert on all things "healthy" ( Cliff... AKA. TentHunter)...

Not an expert...  just willing to learn and experiment.  And YOU just happen to be a willing Guinea pig in my latest mad experiments to find healthier, low-carb alternatives to the things we love to eat!  :D

P.S. I like the Chia seed addition you made,  and my latest incarnation of the quick bread mix has Chia in it as well as a few other things.  ;)

Looks kinda good..I just use Romaine lettuce leaves..makes for a great handle, have used several at a time and they take up more calories to eat them. Your putting lettuce on them anyways.  just sayin   .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

Looking at the bright side, at least he didn't suggest turkey bacon as a (disgusting) ingredient to his "healthy BLT."
