Double Apple Ribs
« Reply #-1 on: August 07, 2016, 01:01:22 PM »
Going to try something different on my ribs for this cook. I found a recipe for Double Apple Ribs. Friday I overnight brined the ribs in Angry Orchard Apple Cider, brown sugar, kosher salt and black pepper. Saturday I used my normal Memphis Dust rub and left overnight. For the sauce, it states to use your normal sauce and add Cider and Apple butter to the mix. I replaced the beer in my recipe with the cider and added the apple butter. I'll probably smoke them over my usual peach wood even though I have apple. The sauce tastes outstanding, I can't wait to taste the finished ribs

I am sold. Sounds good. How long do ribs take on your PBC?

It usually depends on the fattiness of the ribs but a good lean slab of St. Louis, I've had done in 2 - 2.5 hours but some thicker cuts have taken 3-4 if they are more fatty. I haven't done baby backs in ages.

Those look and sound incredibly tasty.  I can see myself biting into one of those ribs right now!

I did some candy apple ribs a few years back and remember how good those were.

I will say the leftovers were outstanding and shared some at work. The apple flavor especially in the sauce got much more intense overnight and tasted amazing. I would definitely make these again
