Texas Sized T-Bones
« Reply #-1 on: February 04, 2018, 10:05:55 AM »
We like to make the hour drive to Bryan/College Station once a month for grocery shopping. We have found that the larger HEB markets there have more family packs and special deals. So we go there to stock up on meat.

I was pondering a couple of rib eyes when Wendy called me over and showed me these packs of beautiful T-Bones.

I swear I thought there were three in a pack. We get home and there were only two and those suckers were big.

Got em rubbed down with Gundpowder and believe it or not they filled up an oven tray

The PK couldn't handle these so I uncovered our large All System Feeders pit
Grilled em in the one compartment and let them kick back in some indirect heat for a bit

Wendy sauteed some shrooms and as you can see there was no room on the plate for taters or veggies.......

My kinda steak

HEB does carry better beef than Kroger or Wally World, that's for sure.  Nice work!

They might call them T-Bones but they look like some nice sized Porterhouse's to me. I will take one no matter what you call them  :P :P :P

Love to cook and eat

Funny you mention that. I was telling Wendy between beefy mouthfuls that these were way more like Porters. The Tenderloin section was really nice sized.

I should have bought more. They were only about 8 bucks a piece.
