Gaskets on a Weber kettle
« Reply #-1 on: March 04, 2018, 12:16:55 PM »
Has anyone put a gasket on their kettle? I'm thinking about putting one on mine. If you did, what brand and how did it turn out? Thanks

I am kind of curious why the gasket? I have found if the lid sits true they do not leak much heat or smoke.

does your lid not fit well?  A call to Weber cs will take of that problem.

I am also wondering if the gasket would impede the sitting of the lid onto the kettle............

I have one on mine. Makes a world of difference. It fits like a glove. No leakage at all from the lid now. I got mine here: http://bbqgaskets.com/kits-by-brand/weber/weber-kettle-gasket-kit.html

Like Mike, I also put a gasket on the the Green 22" it does sit better and improves the seal. I believe I used the same gasket as Mike.  :)

Is this just the best darn forum...................I never thought you could or would have to gasket a kettle.

You learn so much around here.  :)
