More often than not, I'll be having a Famous Grouse, although I will pour a good single malt from time to time. I tend to go peaty in those cases.  Dalmore Cigar Malt is a favorite.

Single Malt Scotch for me. Glenfiddich 12 is a good choice ;)

IF I could afford it all the time, Glenlivet 12 or Glenfiddich is my choice, BUT being a poor guy, Johnny Walker Red is my choice for daily consumption.    Older son is a Maker's Mark fan.   It's OK, but really prefer scotch, and the "peatier" the better.

I thought you liked Woodford Reserve.  Or was that the Christmas present you always hoped someone would give you?

I like Tequila, but it makes my clothes fall off.  I usually stick with a good Irish Whiskey.

Im a big fan of bourbon.  My goto when drinking straight  is  Willet Pot Still, but its getting to be tough to find.

Lately have gotten  into the "craft cocktail" craze.  Love almost any bourbon or rye cocktail.

For cocktails I like  Buffalo Trace bourbon and Rittenhouse Rye.   Have made some really good Old Fashioneds,  Manhattans, Sazaracs and Whiskey Sours.

I am with you on the Makers Mark 46 and and also Rare Bread 112 for a modest price bourbon.
Bottom line I drink American Whiskey and that be Bourbon and Jack Daniels Whiskey.

My modest bar:

I am not a Scotch drinker but I do like a taste once in a while. A friend of mine suggested this and I found it to be very smooth. My brother on the other hand liked it a lot and almost drank the whole bottle.

Well I lean towards a good Irish whiskey. Living in Alabama and having to buy from a State owned store options are limited so I normally just go with a Bushmills Or a Bush Black. Jameson's is good too. I like a taste of good Scotch whisky when you can find it. Drinking American I will sip on some Jack or Black Jack. Once in a blue moon at a gathering someone will pull out a quart jar of fresh made white whiskey. If you trust who brought it and know who made it it is some good stuff, but for sure just for very light sipping.

I can't drink bourbon and don't particularly like rye but I could spend a bunch of time talking Scotch whisky. I won't (lucky you) other than to say that for my money, Aberlour A'Bunadh is the best under-$100 bottle of Scotch on the market. Try it all three ways - straight, with a cube, and with a touch of water.  Gotta be careful though - that cask strength (around 120 proof) will definitely kick your butt.

Oh, and tequila? When it's good, it's good but it's definitely not anyone's friend.

X2 when talking about Whisky instead of Whiskey.

I don't drink whiskey every day, but when I do want a sip, it's either Gentleman Jack or Jim Beam.
I do keep Old No. 7 to serve to the masses.

I don't buy the expensive stuff. I don't drink it that often.

Thunderbird or Night Train for when I get down and dirty

"All aboard to nowhere - woo wooo!  The night train runs only one route: sober to stupid with no roundtrip tickets available, and a strong liklihood of a train wreck along the way. "
