This Saturday - May 17 2014. Magnolia Arkansas. About 30 miles north of Shreveport LA, and probably 3-1/2 hours from Dallas.

This is the 25th annual World Champion Steak Cook Off!
Come on - some of you need to rent a van and fill 'er up with members along your path. ;D
One of the things about steak cook offs is that with your admission - YOU get a steak! That's right. You get to pick out the steak you want form any of the competitors!

I was ready to make the trip but Google Maps told me "We could not calculate directions between Kailua, HI and Magnolia, AR." Maybe technology will catch up to the requirement next year.

But, Turtle - what kind of lame excuse is THAT..I mean - I have seen the documentary on Thor Heyerdahl and the Kon Tiki...GET TO PADDLING!!!! ;D
After all - LA and his lovely keeper - the Mrs. LA will be there. And...Sliding Billy...and others I will bet!

Our youngest is graduating from nursing school Saturday am. as well, but if someone was to come by in a nice van say in the 12:30 -1:00 pm. vicinity I might be obliged to go on a road trip! just sayin'............ 8)

Yes, there is a great bbq place on the trail from Cusco to Machu Picchu. When you reach the fork in the road, be sure to take it. The locals eat guinea pig, but I would suggest you go big with a pulled priodones maximus sandwich or some baby back myrmecophaga tridactyla ribs. If you are looking for a little poultry, try the smoked rupicola peruvianis.

Looks like I am going to have to skip this one Tee. Between the wife's weekend plans, gas and ticket price... I did notice that there is a June 28 (Saturday) SCA event in Carrollton. I am pretty sure I will be attending that one (and will make it a definite if anyone else is interested).

I've packed my flask & a wine bladder!
Plan on having fun!
