I just had a flashback to my old fry cook days  :o

Wouldn't the pumice stone make the grates too clean where food would stick on the ensuing (hey The Smoke has a large vocabulary) cook??

It does get the grill grates clean, and leaves grit on the grating if you don't come back with a paper towel to wipe them down

I've never used a pumice stone. It always seemed to me that it would take more than grime off the grates. Doesn't it scratch the surface of the metal?
I guess that wouldn't mater on plain cast iron grates with the exception Smoke mentioned. Would you need to re season after using it?

Just wondering??
