Possible Patent infringing
« Reply #-1 on: June 22, 2013, 01:08:49 PM »
Saw this post in another forum and it looks like some one from across the Boarder my be infringing on Todd's invention.  I am not an attorney and don't know how his patent was filled.  I know some of you are very good friends with Todd and might be able to get hold him to inform him so he can look into it.  I hate companies that knock off other peoples ideas.

Here is the link where I saw it.  http://forum.bradleysmoker.com/index.php?topic=32619.0

Well it does not use the "mesh" design like Todd's so it probably does not infringe and if I is made by an international company like say in China for instance good luck getting it off the market unless you got a high priced attorney and plenty of time ::)

Good looking out for him though.

Yeah, it's different enough that there most likely no infringement. Plus, if that product is being made in China forget it. China doesn't honor international copyright or patent laws anyway.

"Remember who your friends are".......

Todd is our friend and a fellow outdoor cook. I will not ever consider buying a product from a company like the one that did a cheap knock-off of his tube.....

I would not buy that knock off, Doesn't look like it has enough holes for combustion.

China, and several other countries, have "interesting" patent laws that make it difficult, if not impossible to protect your products from being knocked off. The good news is that for the most part, the knock offs are c#$p and most purchasers either ignore them or never buy again. The bad news is, it is almost impossible to fight the patent issue. That's a good reason for getting close to your customers and prospects and helping them understand the value of "the real thing." And that's what Todd has done and is doing.
