Trial smoke 2 on Weber Kettle

Set up for a long cook, 130-140 briquittes (7-8 ) lbs with pecan chunks.
I think it'll burn 8-10 hours with this load & I could have added 3-4 more lbs.
Maze set up, & butt on.
Using me I-grill to monitor, haven't used in a while & batteries dead ???
Ill keep informed .
Maze with pecan

Charcoal added, fire at one end

Butt on cooker with heat shield & grate in place

Looking forward to this one as I planning a very similar cook in my head today. I think one of the things I like about BBQ is the planning and the prep.

What temp you looking for on the grill?

Very interested in this. Do you think you'll need the whole maze?

Doc. The question I'm asking is can I make a kettle into an overnite smoker ?
I've loaded 7-8 lbs briquettes & 3 chunks wood , I think it'll go 8-10 hours but unsure.
I can easily load 12 lbs charcoal if needed!
6 hours in temps running 220F to 255 F depending on sun but staying in good cooking temps without adjusting!

I think you have plenty of charcoal. I am going to do a snake with mine with less charcoal.....at least that is the plan ;)

I'm thinking you don't need with the kamodo , my Kamodo will go 15 hours without reloading.

9 hours into cok the butt was done cooking , temps crept up to 262 still ok.
Pulled butt & foiled letting charcoal go to see how long it'll go!
The bottom was not chared, a fear I had!
