Title: HOS your kill'n me...
Post by: tlg4942 on March 17, 2021, 12:34:58 PM
Mike,  After reading the Smokefire discussion and seeing your comments on the RT-B380 BULLSEYE WOOD PELLET GRILL I pulled the trigger and ordered one this morning.
  Thanks!  ;D
After more research last night I believe the RecTeq RT700 will be my choice over the Weber.  It will be a little while before I get that far. I still have a ton of hurricane damage to finish clearing up.
I hope to use the poles and tin from an old shed that blew down to build a cookhouse before adding another big grill.

Terry, I have been wanting one of those RT b380's .     But $$$ is tight right now with the dealership being sold,  not sure where I will end up after all said and done.

I do have my SRG pellet which is close to it so I guess I'll just stick with it for awhile

Terry, I've seen the Bullseye in action and it is a very versatile cooker.

I know you're gonna like cookin' on it.  Hopefully, you can bring it to the Cookout soon.

After reading what you all have to say about the Bullseye, I did a little Youtube research as I had never seen one in action.  I worried slightly about the controller settings and they guy crushing it with his excavator on Youtube.  :'(

Cut to the chase, it arrived yesterday morning , assembled easily, step by step vid online.
Brought it right out to deck and did the burn in at 450 for an hour .
First cook was wings , they were so good had to keep going.  2 prime strip steaks with sea salt and pepper, perfect .  After that chicken tenders and 3 pieces of salmon .
All i can say is very very pleased with the purchase , Riot mode is fun.

Mine arrived the other day but due to the crazy weather, I held off on seasoning it in.  Its sitting in my office beside me   Looks like tomorrow will be good. Glad to hear hd002 first experience is good.
I've already gone into Tommy mode with it sitting here where I can see it though! Mods ...

Tommy mode... in my office beside me

You FloraBama guys seem to have a thing about keeping your cookers indoors for company (not only you and Tommy - I remember RAD doing the same thing when he got his MB560). Strange custom. I guess it could be comforting in a way but SWMBO would never go for it.

Jus' sayin'...

Finally got to try out the Bullseye.  I did the break-in and seasoning at 400 for an hour.  Then, I cooked a couple of bone-in ribeyes for the first cook.  I used Pecan/Peach blend pellets (which have a great flavor). The steaks were very good and the smoke was just right.
I have a pork shoulder ready for Saturday so we will see how it does on a long cook.
As quick and easy as this is I think it will become a daily grill for sure.
