Title: PBC vs the field
Post by: order66 on October 30, 2014, 06:54:52 PM
Me and some of my pals did a smoker Sunday/throwdown last week. We decided on a menu and randomly assigned the meats by a blind draw. Brisket, Pork Butt and Chicken and apps.
I drew the chix and apps. Almost unfair. : )
I did a big ole 10# bird and ABT's and Pork Shots.
One pal did an 8# Brisket (He has a WSM) rubbed with coffee/memphis dust variant it looked awesome but it turned out dri(ish)
The other pal did the butt and it came out good. (He has an ECB) he had troubles with the wind/keeping temps up. He showed late with the Butt and we pulled it on site.
The crowd and especially the women-folk devoured the PBC chix and voted it the winner. ABT's and Pork Shots also drew high praise from the crowd, the girls claimed the Pork Shots were too spicy...what do they know anyway?!
We are doing a re-do in 2 weeks with the same fare, I drew the briskie. Wish me luck.
Details w/ pix on following the next round.
PBC for the win!!! Pix next time for sure.

We crave ( as in need, as in required) PICTURES!!  You know, or should know the rules.  No pictures = the cook never happened!!
