You've seen one you've seen'em all! Yesterday's cook, the one where I got up before most sane people would to sit in relative cold and play with fire as documented HERE (http://www.letstalkbbq.com/index.php?topic=19306.0)
There was also a butt involved but enough about my Saturday night, lol! (No pics of the butt, you're welcome)

I also had Steph put 2 chicken breasts on to smoke toward the end of the cook when everything was getting about done. A pound of meat from each will go into a Brunswick Stew recipe from Southern Soul BBQ that is supposed to be really good. We shall see!
The recipe can be found HERE (https://www.washingtonpost.com/recipes/southern-soul-brunswick-stew/13833/?utm_term=.4cca29c2a439)
Although I don't have their sauces, I will use what I have to get as close to it as I can and I also will be using frozen veggies. Should be edible, if not I'll be a little pissed that I wasted 3 pounds of meat :P
I'll report back, good, bad or indifferent.
Thanks for looking!

RG, your brisket looks fantastic. Great bark and juicy, too!

Very nice! :)

This is going to sound bizarre so I will ask for forgiveness in advance :P
I am about sick and tired of eating BBQ! Whew! There, I said it. What a load off, lol.
In all seriousness, I need to take a break from that dang KBQ and start using my other cookers. I mostly did this cook just to get ingredients to make the dang stew. Don't get me wrong, the food was delicious but I need to chill out on the smoked foods for a while. Tonight I will be using leftovers to make a creation (you'll see later!) and of course the stew. After that, I will be taking a long pause I think. Keep in mind that is subject to change as I have been known to do that :)

You are forgiven RG. Sometimes you need to clear your palate and let your smokers cool down for a couple of days. We have all been in your boots.
Brisket looks real moist with a nice smoke ring. Is that one of those fancy dancy SRF ones or is it from the market??

2 known cures for this:
1. Sous Vide
2. Instant Pot
Those 2 items can give you a break in "style" of cooking...and make some incredible stuff in their own right!

Good call Tim. There is something about having a crock pot going when it is cold out to make you feel all warm and fuzzy.

It's been a while since I broke out the Anova, may do a chuckie soon. Smoke, it's just a Choice Angus from RD. Nuttin' fancy.

Well if you are going to take a break from smoking that brisket is a great finish.
Looks so delicious it made me hungry enough to venture out to my favorite BBQ place in Savannah about a mile away.
B's Cracklin' BBQ, if you are in Savannah, GA check it out.

I plan on going to Savannah at some point, I'll check it out! Thanks for the heads up ;)

Killer brisket!! I here ya about sometimes needing to take a break. I believe Aaron Franklin said he eats BBQ maybe twice/year...crazy!

So true.

Never too much brisket! It looks outstanding.

Brisket looks great!
My Instant Pot has allowed to give the smoker a break for so good winter eats like pot roast

+1 on the Brisket and Instant Pot
SWMBO bought me a second Instant Pot a couple weeks ago ... It was on sale on Amazon ... Now I can maximize my repertoire and not just be limited to making one pot meals 8) 8)

I'm from SW Georgia and that recipe is pretty close. My grand pappy made it in a cast iron pot in a fire outside. As far as meat ...you used what you had. Thanks for posting.

I had to take a long time off on pulled pork. Almost hard to get down. But I'm back.

I know with Brunswick Stew, there is an infinite number of ways to make it. My normal recipe that I threw together years ago uses very little crushed tomatoes, a different style of BBQ sauce, potatoes, no limas, pork and chicken only, no brisket. They couldn't be further apart in taste although they still have a lot in common! I may make my standard version in the new year and do a "Stew Off"!! LOL
