Well........it was 50/50. Some pieces were awesome and some were inedible. I burnt some of the burnt ends lol. Next time I'll have it dialed in. Being the way I am I gave the good pieces to the neighbors and family. I rather see people happy than enjoy it myself. Here they are (https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180331/a7d0f67ebdd6b3bb45c146e5a51c83fd.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180331/a44384d7b0a14c8c0a2be3c7bcc87a17.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180331/be76b64e5c2c6c77df4654b687c41e77.jpg)(https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/20180331/d21775babfc8ded69208d908eff3250e.jpg)

Interesting. Where the bad pieces because not enough fat was rendered out leaving them a bit too chewy?
-
The bad ones were cut a little smaller than the other pieces and some maybe closer to the bottom of pit and were in hotter temp. I put some on the turkey hanger attachment because I ran out of room on the skewers. So overall stuff was hanging at different heights and the pieces weren't perfectly uniform. I thought they were close enough in size honestly. But the bad pieces I'm referring too were dried out and tasted like ash and bitter. The good pieces had a buttery melt in your mouth type of taste .

Good info, lemonhead. Thanks!

Looks awesome from here! And what a great neighbor you are (are there any houses for sale on your street?) :)

I have something for you to try with your pork burnt ends. A few years back I smoked some pork burnt ends using a cherry rub. When I finished smoking them, I put them in a half pan and placed them in the fridge overnight. The next day I took a dark chocolate and dipped each cold piece of pork in it and sprinkled some more cherry rub on top of the chocolate. The only person who didn't care for it was my wife. As I recall, Tee and Mrs. Tee loved it. TMR and Kimmie also loved it. In fact Kimmie wanted to know when I was making some more. Hub liked it, too. I also received rave reviews from a number of students at Johnson and Wales in Charlotte.
Everyone who took a piece was expecting chocolate candy. Then they bit into the pork. Surprise!! Surprise!! This was another version of bacon dipped in dark chocolate. Time consuming, yes. One of these days I will have to make another batch.

What a great looking cook! How did the skewers work for you?

Chocolates dipped burnt ends is a great idea. And the skewers work awesome. I wish I bought 2 packages instead of one
