Title: I lost my stand
Post by: Lemonhead78 on April 18, 2018, 06:23:51 AM
Is the stand for cooking performance or is it to keep it from rotting on bottom prematurely?

In my opinion its mostly for keeping it off the ground so it doesnt rot, however with the bottom vent right on the bottom it most likely helps with proper ventilation. So I would say both.  You can easily enough make your self one.

3 or 4 bricks would do the trick easily. I'm gonna double check our camper today. I hope it turns up. I brang the pit barrel to a campground to show it off this weekend . The stand is currently missing though. Gonna make a pork butt this weekend and ribs the following weekend.

Good idea!  I have drilled three holes in both of mine and attached the leg assembly to the bottom of the barrel with sheet metal screws, that way it doesn't disappear.

You will definitely want to keep the Pit Barrel Cooker off the ground. The bricks will work well but if you ever want to replace a stand, just contact our office Monday through Friday between 8am and 6pm EST to order a stand for $35.00. We always offer free shipping within the continental United States. The office number is 502.228.1222. Thank you.
