Title: Along The Shores Of Lake Superior (Thunder Bay)
Post by: Agustine on June 20, 2018, 09:08:03 PM
After three stops along the shores of Lake Superior (worlds largest fresh water lake) where I grew up and could fly legally I had 25-30 minutes of video. So now I had to edit it down to the my 5 minute rule for drone videos, sorry but I could just not do it. I think I went over by 3 minutes plus. Oh well just grab another beer and watch :)
Watch from Vimeo full screen to get the full effect.

For this one I used Adobe Premiere Pro CC 2015 to edit and CyberLink PowerDirector 14 (64-bit) to upload the video as it just seems to work better for uploading for me.

Thank you! I use Adobe Premiere Pro CC and I like how you make the colors and clarity pop!

I may show my age, when I was young growing up in upper lower Michigan, this was before there was a Mackinaw bridge and a bridge from Sault Ste. Marie to Canada.  My father went into Canada driving West  above Lake Superior on a road that ended in WAWA.  At that time, there was no road around the complete Northern route above Lake Superior to Thunder Bay.  He said that the road ended at WAWA;  where do we get that name now about gas stations?  He said that the people up there were not used to seeing outsiders, and were somewhat outloof.  Wow, what beautiful country

My family had a log cabin made exactly like the one built In Deerborn MI, called Camp Deerborn, in the middle of the UP..I remember crossing the Straits in a ferry along with our car then turning at the bridege and going West for 88 miles then up into the Hiawatha National Forest to our cabin above Manistique. We got to see them build the bridge. geez I'm old.
The bridge was officially begun amid proper ceremonies on May 7 & 8, 1954, at St. Ignace and Mackinaw City. The bridge opened to traffic on November 1, 1957 according to schedule.

Pam:  You like me have to remember the wait for the ferry in your car.  There was every type of street vendor selling stuff for people waiting.  I liked the smoked whitefish and hot pasties.  During opening day of deer season, the wait was for hours and hours.  People had to be more patient in those days, quite unlike today.

I thought I would share a video from a buddy of mine who fly's the same type of UAV as I do. It has a little history from Enterprise City Utah. I enjoyed it, hope you do to.
