Title: Hatched in Hawaii!
Post by: Ka Honu on August 19, 2014, 06:04:36 PM
No, not more turtles (although we are doing what we can - just not me or SWMBO personally).

Whole Paycheck had an awesome (by Hawaii standards) sale on Hatch chiles this weekend ($1.99 per pound). When I can get them, I go through about 15 pounds a year so that's what I bought.

After a little over an hour's work out on the deck with RED, they're roasted and ready to vac seal and freeze.

I see lots of chile verde and all its relatives in my future.

Turtle, when I read your headline, I was expecting an entirely different post. Thank goodness it was about hatch peppers and not that stuff you should leave to the youngsters. Great price on those peppers and Chili verde sounds really good right now.
