Would like to join for the access to restaurant depot.Is it for one year from date of joining,or is it like year 2015,2016 etc? This is the link Im looking at....

You are assuming they will actually check the card. I don't think they have ever really looked at mine. Your mileage may vary......

That is why I originally decided to join. Later on I decided to become a certified judge.

This month they have Farmer John bacon ends and pieces for 15 lbs/16.50,wowzers! Ive bought those boxes before at Staters Bros (and paid much more!) and got a lot of very large thick pieces that were better than buying the perfect ones in the packs IMO.

Depends on where you want to judge. If there are BBQ organizations near you I would contact them and see what their requirements are. For KCBS you need to take a class. Most organizations have their own criteria and certifications are not interchangeable.

Depending on how much you're willing to travel, the KCBS may not be the best choice. I don't think they have any events coming anywhere near Capetown.
