While trying to figure out why the "Photobucket Upload Box" not working properly, it was discovered that this mod/plugin is no longer supported by SMF forum software, so it has been removed from the Posting options.
You can still post photobucket photos by manually Copying & Pasting the [IMG] code into your post directly from your Photobucket account.
Here's a link with detailed instructions: How to Post PhotoBucket Pictures - Let's Talk BBQ (http://www.letstalkbbq.com/index.php?topic=2938.0)
This only affects those Photobucket users who were using the upload box. If you were already linking to your photos manually, nothing has changed.

How does facebook do it? It is so easy

With Facebook you upload directly from your hard drive. You can link your Facebook account to Photobucket and it will post for you. On this board you have to use the attachments option to upload from your hard drive. When I upload to Facebook I do it from my hard drive as there some photos I put on Photobucket that I don't want on Facebook.

Or maybe SMF needs to just put the link back....

Wish we could do that...but - every software package has strengths and weaknesses. And - overall - SMF works more trouble free than most, while having a huge amount of support.
However - this one irks me too. But - whatcha gonna do?

Since I start more useless threads than most & my ancient iPad no longer support the photo bucket app I used this feature a lot!
Sorry to see it go :(

Has anyone checked to see if there's a header option to check in a new update? Nine times out of ten features like this one get "zapped" when a user operator doesn't go through the options because it is a PITA install, not automatic.

I always had 3 little pictures from my hard drive with an upload Photobucket button at the bottom of my screen whenever I did a new message or a reply. I never used it because I didn't know what it did. When this subject came up a couple of days ago I tried it for the first time. It worked perfectly, uploading a picture without having to log in or anything. I wonder why it worked for me but not for others?

Just so you guys know, this was not an SMF issue. It wasn't even their mod. It was written by a third-party developer (using old photobucket code) and they took it down from their website, which tells me there were issues with it that they didn't want to deal with.
Even photobucket's support page for "Linking to Forums" instrucs you to copy the IMG code, and paste it into your post, which is actually the normal procedure for embedding photos into posts.
