What an honor when I found out that one of the Appetizer recipes from my cookbook, The Wood Pellet Smoker & Grill Cookbook, was published in the September/October 2016 edition of the TAILGATER magazine.

Configured my MAK 2 Star for direct cooking and used the griddle accessory to cook these sliders.

Congrats Peter. That is a fun magazine that people really enjoy. Free on-line

I write for them from time to time. The Editor Lee is a great guy he did a story on our tailgate group a few years ago & then talked me into doing a few things for the magazine.

In fact I may be doing a little story next year for them.

Congrats for your contributions to the magazine ... I receive the free on-line edition. My publisher informed me that another one of my recipes will be in the January issue.  I was pleasantly surprised when my editor told me that I was in the magazine.

Thanks  :-[  SWMBO and I didn't know how the cookbook would be received but I'm pleasantly shocked to see that to date I've sold almost 4,000 copies on Amazon alone  ???  ???

Thanks for all the kind words everyone, but I'm no pro by any means. Just a good ole boy who learned everything from trial and error along with all the knowledge shared on Forums like this one. Smokin'/cooking is just a hobby of mine now that I'm retired and have the time. It allows me the opportunity often to use my MAK 4-5 times a week ... I try and learn something new every day. Practice makes perfect.

I was just lucky enough to have Ulysses Press find my Blog when they were looking to publish a wood pellet smoker-grill cookbook. When they first contacted me via email about a book I thought it was spam but something told me to reply ... and the rest as they say is history!   8)

Pete,

Congratulations both on the success of the book and on the reprint in Tailgater Magazine.  I subscribe to the online version and I look forward to checking out your recipe.

Yes Sparky there are ways to get my cookbook signed but I don't want to step on anyone's toes, especially those of people who sponsor this fine Forum.

I was providing a way on my blog to get a personally signed copy but my cost to provide the cookbook and shipping is a bit higher than the cost of the cookbook on outlets like Amazon.
