Last min Pork chop and Chip & Dip tators
« Reply #-1 on: March 23, 2015, 08:40:36 PM »
Got home tonight only to find Kimmie on the lawn mower and nothing fixed for dinner.   Well now lets see this opens the door for me to make up something and she can't stop me  ;) :D :D :D :D

Well, I did have two nice boneless chops in the fridge and a potato in the pantry that needed to be used so.....

I sliced the spud into 1/4 in or so slices then washed real good then popped into the microwave for a few mins to get them ready for the grill.  I used 3/4 stick of butter and two Tbs of Chip and Dip seasoning from Penzey's spice co.

While the spuds were cooking I put the chops in sandwich bags and added Italian dressing (again short on time) I needed something fast to season them with.   I placed the spuds on a HOT GrillGrate and then brushed them with the butter and seasoning.  Flipped onetime then brushed again.

Meantime I laid the chops on the grill and grilled for a few mins the rotated before flipping.   Removed spuds and chops let rest for a few mins and sat down to nice meal with Kimmie ;) ;) ;) ;)

She wants the same thing Tuesday night.  She loves the spuds with Chip & Dip

If Kimmie managed her time better, she could have mowed the lawn and had supper started  :D :D

Darn good looking supper Tommy in a short amount of time.

What is the name of your grill, I have seen previous cooks of yours done with this grill, and it seems to get the job done nicely  8)

It's a Grill2Go grill by CharBroil.  Kimmie bought it for me a few years back for my birthday.   Was going to use the Rec-Tec but time was not on my side.  This grill heats up fast and just perfect for me and Kimmie ;D

Sorry TMB, I TOTALLY stole your idea for dinner tonight!

I was thinking what to make for dinner when I came across this post... It was pretty tasty. My grill marks aren't nearly as pretty as yours (guess it's time to step up to the plate and get some grill grates maybe).

Made my potatoes with olive oil, kosher salt and ground pepper, and a bit of Savor Spices Way Out West herbs. For the pork chops, I rubbed them with some olive oil and Pappy's Choice seasoning after a quick pass with the Jaccard tenderizer.

Oh yeah, and a Tecate with lime in chilled salt-rimmed glass, just for fun...

Ron all looks great. Now GrillGrates do add very nice grill marks and are worth every dime.  I'm glad you liked the idea
