Grilled green tomatoes
« Reply #-1 on: May 06, 2015, 01:01:09 PM »
I made the grilled green tomatoes a couple times now.
The first time they were great.  I cooked them directly on the grid and all were eaten and  more were requested.
The second time I put them on a foil pan lid on the grid. Not nearly as good and it is possible they did not cook long enough.
However , There were leftovers this time so I put them directly on the grid to reheat them. This improved them greatly...
Then on two more I added aged Asiago cheese and red bell pepper.  Even more improvement.
So the moral of the story is to grill them right on the grid and be sure they are well done. And Use really good cheese...

Some Sriracha couldn't hurt these either...

Terry:  I have to try this.  It looks like you are not flipping the tomatoes?  Also, approximately what temps and time.  Thanks,

'No flip necessary...  Medium heat range and cook until the tomatoes are pretty soft. Enough that you have to use a spatula.  For my taste they need to be well done.
Think pizza and go from there with toppings.
