Pulled Pork - First time ever!
« Reply #-1 on: April 02, 2016, 09:27:57 PM »
Alright! I was talking with bjanson at work about wanting to try making pulled pork for the first and he challenged me to give it a shot. So I got home and told my wife not to make plans for Sat. cause it was pulled pork Sat. So here are my picks from my amazing MAK 1 Star General! ( I love saying that)

Used maple syrup as my binder with a pork rub I bought in amish country.

Ran 235 degrees until it reached 160 Degrees

Then wrapped, poured my apple cider vinegar, water and brown sugar and then cooked until meat was super tender. I smoked two 9lb hams and one was done at 195 degrees and the other was done at 202 degrees. I know you don't have to wait for a cool down, but I waited about 20 minutes due to how hot my gloves were getting. lol

These two butts made 3 trays which were shared with family and friends.

So the finished product!

I enjoyed the pork all by itself and then added this Organic Chipotle BBQ sauce me and my wife picked up at Giant Eagle. This was a great meal. So glad I tried making pulled pork. It turned out great! Then had left - overs. Pulled pork soft taco. Endless possibilities.

Friends I hope you enjoyed the pics!

Looks fantastic !  And to quote Cliff, "I really like the looks of that taco".
Pulled pork is great to use for party's and groups. It's goes a long way and is easy to get on the grill and then ready to serve.
 It freezes well too..
Great job! Looking like your on a roll...
