Grilled Tri-Tip Steaks
« Reply #-1 on: October 17, 2016, 01:53:11 PM »

Used a searing grate on my MAK 2 Star to grill 1" thick prime tri-tip steaks to medium-rare. Served with a side of green salad and some fries. I like homemade cocktail sauce with my fries - It's a family secret recipe! ... Mix catsup with some horse radish to taste  :D  :D  ;)

I was careful to ensure that I cut the steaks against the grain since the tri-tip has grains that run in different directions

Check out the marbling on the prime tri-tip steaks! Lightly rubbed EVOO and seasoned the steaks. Allowed the steaks to come to room temperature while preheating the MAK to 450ºF plus

Gotta love those searing marks  ;D  ;D

I will admit that my smoked tri-tips and the TRISKET I did the other day were more tender than the tri-tip steaks but the steaks were still extremely tender and delicious.

Lovely!!  Great job with the experiments and trying the tri-tip different ways!   Pretty sear marks, too. :)
