Nice write up! When you really get down to the nuts and bolts of the new MAK, it doesn’t take long to figure out that this is not a normal pellet grill. It has some pretty creative and smart engineering behind it :)

Yup, it becomes very apparent when you are unpacking it from the crate. Our little banner here that says MAK is original in so many ways........I thought that was a neat slogan but it is real true when you get your hands on one.

This is great so far! Nice job.

I am picking mine up on March 23rd at the factory and can't wait.

This review is really solidifying my choice.

You have no idea of the quality until you get your hands on one. I was in tears during the assembly. The workmanship and fit and finish are incredible.

I believe I heard this from Tim, is that you can upgrade older models with new upgrades. Correct me someone, if I am wrong.

Yep, that is correct. The only pellet grill manufacturer that I believe does this... love it!

You chose well!   FYI - I also did a review on the FlameZone with temps, and the Griddle & searing grate here (much of it is the same info, but some is different):   http://www.letstalkbbq.com/index.php?topic=20313.0

Yep...especially on the 2 - Star General.....The "upgrade path" is not something that MAK has advertised, or even boasted about....but it is there. So, the life cycle for their product is thus far - not limited.
FWIW - I will be doing a full restoration/upfit on a first generation, low serial number MAK 2 Star - to the current model. Will have LOTS of pictures, and show the updates in detail.

School me. The upper shelf is different now? Right? Looks like a slide in one, which I assume I can't replicate.

Makes me want to sell my Blaz'n and buy one now! I love the Blaz'n but it is definitely not in the same class as the MAK!

Yeah, the 2018 MAK has the slide in ports attached. I am guessing that this might not be upgradeable and that the full and 3/4 racks with legs will suffice.

It did come down to Blazin vs MAK for me but at the end of the day, as fine a grill as the Blazin is, MAK is at a level no Mfg has yet and might never achieve.

You got a darn good pellet grill HOS, but if you ever see a MAK in person, you will be making the move I bet..............
