Boy they really have changed the innards from my unit. Very cool

I believe I heard this from Tim, is that you can upgrade older models with new upgrades. Correct me someone, if I am wrong.
I think you are right. They never forget their first customers. Which is pretty rare these days
Yep, that is correct. The only pellet grill manufacturer that I believe does this... love it!
Yep...especially on the 2 - Star General.....The "upgrade path" is not something that MAK has advertised, or even boasted about....but it is there. So, the life cycle for their product is thus far - not limited.
FWIW - I will be doing a full restoration/upfit on a first generation, low serial number MAK 2 Star - to the current model. Will have LOTS of pictures, and show the updates in detail.

School me. The upper shelf is different now? Right? Looks like a slide in one, which I assume I can't replicate.

Yeah, the 2018 MAK has the slide in ports attached. I am guessing that this might not be upgradeable and that the full and 3/4 racks with legs will suffice.
I should see parts within 2 weeks...will be able to tell you more from a "hands on" perspective then.

Makes me want to sell my Blaz'n and buy one now! I love the Blaz'n but it is definitely not in the same class as the MAK!

That's kinda what I thought. Not a big deal but it is a nice upgrade. I have two upper shelves which work just fine. But that slide out is nice.

Yeah, Eric (simi pellet grills) and I would modify second racks with hardware to set on the cooking grate in GMG and Camp Chef models. They worked nice, but sometimes the legs get in the way.

We actually already have. I am working again so I am picking my spots with the review. I still have to show some more standard features and then accessories and then we can get the smoke rolling.

Whatever the case may be, my popcorn is starting to go stale. Nothing a bit more butter can’t fix... lol. C’mon smoke, my high cholesterol is gonna be your fault ;)

Nice. I've wondered about their rubs and sauces. Never seen anyone give an opinion on them.
