Driftwood Pastrami
« Reply #-1 on: June 09, 2012, 01:27:53 PM »

Found a corned beef eye of round in the freezer.   From St Paddy's day - 2011.  :o

Trim (didn't rinse, gonna use the corning liquids for 'glue'), and rub-a-dub with some Garlic Salt Lick.

Adding some moisture.

Cruising at around 235°.   I'll stab it before we go to church and see if it can just rest foiled in the crock pot.

Gonna be a hot/humid one today.   Even the Alpha Sentry isn't all that interested.

Note to self.  Pick up rye bread, Swiss cheese and some good kraut..

We'll check back later.

So whats the deal with the paint can opener? For the Guiness or are you painting  ;D :o  I have like 10 of those sitting around, they would give them away at Lowe's when you purchased paint. They got smart and started selling them  >:(  :)

One end opens the paint can, the other end opens a bottle of beer.   ;)

As long as more bottles of beer are opened than paint cans, I am fine with that  8) ;D

I can open a bottle of beer with almost any solid object. I can even use one bottle to open another ;)

Does that mean I have a drinking problem?

Heck no! No problem getting a bottle open :)

Squirt, have you been to the salt lick? Best BBQ I have ever had. I buy their original sauce by the case. Really an amazing place.

I don't do 'painting', so I consider that a bottle opener with a pointy thing on the end for opening boxes from Amazon, etc.  ;D

Nope, but I'd like too.   I love their rubs/sauces.

Went back for a peek..

Time to probe it.  Close enough.   I'll have you know I had to up my shutter speed to catch that Thermapen live shot..   ;)

Love that color..

All wrapped up and into the crock pot 'oven' on low for a few more hours.   I added a 1/4 cup of water in there to keep the moisture level up.

We'll check back at dinner time!

Hey Squirt, is that "grey thermapen" fast? Just for my personal knowledge ;D ;D ;D I have a black one and I believe that Mike (Muebe) has one also. I can't remember what color though ;D ;) ;D ;) Maybe he'll chime in soon. :)
I think he said he got his in Britain or something like that :o ;)
