Fun day / labor day
« Reply #-1 on: September 02, 2019, 09:49:58 PM »
Was running low on my life blood.  When to Lowe's today to take care of that.

Don't judge.  I love charcoal.

My wife says I got a problem.  No I don't.

Let's fire up some coals.  Never used royal oak before.  Kingsford guy here for the last 50 years.

Fired up the little guy for some snacks.

Then fired up my lovey dovey.

Shrooms and dogs.

Oh ya.  That's what I'm talking about.  Kraut and deli mustard.

Pretty nice site.  Love my PBC.

Running a tad hot.  We are sitting in the Washington sun.  D@mn it's nice here.

Good color.

Ok, time for some drinking.  Beer and crown.  Portuguese boiler maker.

I fill my PBC basket only 1/2 full.  So I cook my ribs on cold side for 1 hour and then hot side for 1 hour and back in forth until there are done.  This is a pic of them coming of the hot side for 1 hour.

To dark for my taste.  Might be getting a Po' Man on Tuesday.  Don't really want to get another WSM just yet.

Fired up some more R.O.

Girls want chicken.  I'm loving Costco thighs with Meat church all purpose rub.

To d@mn dark for my taste.

I but a little bulls eye sauce on them.  My wife likes it that way.

Chicken looks good.

All done.  Time for some food.

Hope everyone had a great BBQ day.

It seems to burn hotter than kingsford but less ash.  Would be good for grilling.  It was cheap though.  $4 a bag of royal oak compared to $7 bag of kingsford.  My PBC did run hotter with it.  It normally runs at 250 with kingsford but with royal oak it ran a tad above 300 with my same vent setting and it really darken my ribs.  That could have been because it burned hotter.  I only added a small chunk of Apple wood.

Nice cookin’ buddy... although I almost had to stop reading when I got to the point where you refer to your PBC as “lovey dovey”...
