M-Grills M-36 Unboxing

My M-36 finally arrived, 9 weeks late and during this winter's first snowfall.

Now, I need to figure out how to get it 20-meters down a grassy slope that's covered with snow to the back yard patio.

Gravity?  Maybe a sheet of plywood nailed to one side and sort of toboggan it down. Then uncrate.

I may have to resort to that.  It's been sitting, unused, in my driveway for more than a month.  However, I rethink it because the shipper wrote, "561 lbs." on the wrapping.

I would get 2 or 3 buddies with the promise of future Que to help you out.

I have had to do that before with some Texas shipments

You might break it down as far as possible. Grill grates, fire box, shelves, anything easy to remove to get the weight down. Then wait for the snow to go away. Not worth the extra risk. Get some friends to help and maybe lay it on its back on plywood, heavy cardboard, logs.

I'm jealous that is one nice grill. Good luck.

The M-36 has been sitting in the driveway for almost three months.  Movers will take it to the backyard patio tomorrow.  It may be a few days before I make my first cook on it because I'm planning a few cooks on other pits.

I'm going out soon to uncrate it and make it as light as possible.  The wheels are only suitable for hard surfaces but I think that it's the best alternative.

UPDATE

The movers took it off of the pallet and removed the internals.  They still had a deuce of a time getting it down to the backyard patio.  The four-inch wheels dug into the soft sod so it was essentially carried by using straps over their shoulders.  They were astoundingly skilled.  I kept thinking that I thought my back was indestructible when I was their age.

I've not cooked on the M-36 yet, or any other grill.  Back problem restrictions have kept me idle.  Door Dash will miss me when I'm closer to normal activity.
