Looks tasty. Never bacon wrapped a tater before. How did you get the bacon to stick to the tater as it cooked?

I've been trying the pasta toothpick trick and I've had mediocre results, even going through something like a par-boiled Brussels Sprouts. I can't imagine what it would be like going through a raw potato.
Also, I've experienced bacon wanting to unravel.
So, I must be doing it completely wrong.
