Title: Sunday Night Leftovers - Steak and Tater Tots
Post by: ACW3 on July 13, 2014, 09:05:44 PM
We usually "graze" on Sunday evenings.  It can be leftovers.  It can be something simple off one of the grills (like wings).  It can be as easy as crackers and cheese or sliced sausages. Tonight was some leftover steak and Tater Tots slightly thawed.

A little drinky-poo while I am preparing dinner.  My Clamato with Cucumber vodka and Jalapeño season salt.

Not quite leftovers, but easy to make.  Tater Tots on the waffle iron.  I have wanted to do these for a while.  The wife even likes it!!

Leftover steak and waffled Tater Tots ready to eat.

Sometimes simple is better.

Cocktail sounds delicious. Great idea for the tots. We do hashbrowns that way sometimes and they turn out nice and crispy

They look good. I don't have a waffle iron but I wonder if my Panini press would work.

They look good. I don't have a waffle iron but I wonder if my Panini press would work.

It should work just fine.  I guess I am getting old.  I forgot that I have a Panini press, too.  How about something like a layer of hash browns followed by a nice thick layer of cooked bacon (or some other meat) followed by another layer of hash browns?  The Panini press can actually handle different thicknesses of sandwiches, so it might be ideal for a breakfast sandwich of HB and bacon.

NOS, I am glad you brought that up.  Thanks!  Something else new to try.

That's a great looking plate. Will have to try the tots in the waffle maker - great idea! I haven't tried (or seen) cucumber vodka, but sounds like a nice idea - I'll be looking for it!

Be sure and put some cinnamon rolls in the waffle maker too..only takes a couple  of minutes for the rolls. Also, that waffle maker makes the best dressing in the world. It cooks fast and is crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Works on the panini press too.  Pam .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

My youngest daughter loves these. She has a sleep over and says - "No worries Dad, I have breakfast covered." Takes the fun out for me, but good for her! Sometimes she lets me make eggs and bacon or sausage... :)

Pam, what kind of cinnamon rolls are we talking about here? Sounds interesting.
