Had to replace my "stadium lights which were 8 years old.
Still used halogen, LED although getting cheaper were not yet cost effective.
These were about $30 / fixture .
Light up my whole cooking deck.
Really extend the cooking time as days get shorter & so much easier than flashlight!

Very Nice! I am doing the same thing although I need to add another once. Some of the cookers are in the shadows now :)

When and if I get my outdoor kitchen finished I will look for these light LA they look like they really put out the light

That looks very nice.

Guess it would depend on how much they cost to operate.
I've used compact florescent flood lights for years. Not because I'm a global warming believer - because I'm not. But they are cheap to operate and they last for years and years and years. In fact, I keep the two over front steps on 24/7.
But, you got a much brighter setup!

At this point if going for full night lighting LED is the way to go.
For an hour or two 2-3 times a week halogen is still the better idea.

That's some bright light, need sunglasses at night. 8)

Man I need to invest in some of those lights! Like you said sure beats a flashlight or lantern!

We installed LED's at all the new schools and now they have these things called "drivers" that go out and we are having a hard time finding them. From what the electrician tells me a driver is equivalent to a ballast.

Of all the things I've gotten to extend the cooking time on my uncovered deck
1) 12 ft umbrella
2) 3 fans
3) propane 35000 btu heater
4) lights
The lights have been the best investment!
On the other hand I have less in all 4 than most cookers cost ::)
