Title: Instant Pot screwup
Post by: Pappymn on February 01, 2017, 07:42:23 PM
So I go to make my wife some hard boil eggs. Put in a trivet and then some eggs, and dumped in a cup of water. I then had water all over my counter. I forgot the inner container. :(

Since it appears most of the water ran through. I started it up again but it didn't come up to pressure. So I shut it down.

Any idea if I killed it?

I did that once...operator error..let it dry real good over night and should be fine..gotta get it dry tho..I tilted mine sidways so it drained real good..just bunched up a dish towel on one side and let it dry..good luck   .☆´¯`•.¸¸. ི♥ྀ.

How did the water come out of it? I usually put a cup of water in mine then set the eggs in that ( no trivet ), put on the lid, close the vent - and hit manual - set time for 4 minutes.

So I am trying to figure out how it may have happened...?

The reason it didn't come up to pressure after the incident is that I forgot to put in water. I'm as sober as a judge I swear. Just not my night in the kitchen

Yep, at the computer shop, when one of us would screw up we'd say, "Oh, there was a loose nut in front of the monitor!"   :D

I have shorted out a few things in my day - and - when they did not go BOOM.... ???....I would say that "I just needed to let the smoke out of it" ;D
