Title: How to get forum photobucket pics to work again,FREE
Post by: spuds on September 30, 2017, 06:25:07 AM
Not sure where this should be posted,but its important
==============================
Please pass this to your friends,its very cool!!

===================================

If you are using firefox browser add this extension
https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/photobucket-fix/

If you are using google chrome or chromium add on this extension
https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/photobucket-hotlink-fix/kegnjbncdcliihbemealioapbifiaedg?hotlinkfix=1506768501086

Your old bookmark MIGHT take you to a really messed up page(I had a glitch in firefox on a proboard site).If it does either logout or login,the proper looking page should now appear.Create a new bookmark.

At this point your forums with photobucket photos should all appear and work just like before photobucket tried to rob us of our photos.

After installing the plug-in, make sure you either:

1) refresh any open tabs;
2) close and restart Firefox;
3) flush your internet cache.

The plug-in does not take effect until you do one of the above.   Rebooting works also.  Some people in other forums were saying they did not see images after installing the plug-in, but it suddenly started working later or the next day.  They did not do the above.

It certainly does appear to work.
All the pictures I have posted (previous to the photobucket scam), & the pictures others have posted, have reappeared.
The pictures I posted on other forums years ago (& everyone else's also) have reappeared.

Thanks for posting this. :thumbup: :thumbup: :thumbup:

thanks Spuds.  Always leery of installing stuff that seems too good to be true.  But I did a scan after adding the add on with both Windows defender & Kaspersky and nothing detected.

It sure is nice seeing the food porn pics again, I especially like looking at the photos in Karubeque has landed   :P

this has been a salvation for all the millions of forum posts (in all types of forums) that had images hosted on Photo-suck-it.  At least the old stuff is no longer lost forever.  I would *NOT* however continue to post new stuff to PB if your account is still active.   I would look to alternatives for future use and I'm just thankful all the how to on just about every topic you can think of is not gone forever like it was just 2 weeks ago.

Isnt that the truth! Ive been using IMGUR to post photo's,so far so good,but no telling when the next photo host is going to pull the same stunt.Glad there are people out there smart enough to figure out how to make things work again,the guy who developed this work around is a real hero IMO.
